New Department of Labor Change for FMLA Rights

The Department of Labor issued an important interpretation letter exanding the definition of a disabled adult child over 18, and eligibility for a parent to take FMLA leave to provide care. While this may seem like a footnote in the FMLA records, it has major impact on your employees’ entitlement for FMLA leave. MRA’s will provide practical guidance, including sample forms to assist you in your compliance efforts.

Topics include:

  • Define an adult, disabled child under the new interpretation
  • Tips on certifying the disability
  • Review the expanded definition of “loco parentis” and leave eligibility
  • Identify situations that qualify for FMLA when your employee is a legal guardian
TIME: Friday, April 26, 2013. 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch included.
PLACE: MRA, 3800 Avenue of the Cities, Suite 100, Moline, Illinois.
COST: Members: $25 per session. Nonmembers: $35 per session.
